All admission costs are paid at the convention. (No pre-registration is available) CASH ONLY. Doors open at 8am each day. There is no additional charge to play in the events listed on the schedule unless stated otherwise in the event description.
FIRE & ICE is a little game convention with BIG fun for everyone. The average attendance is between 200-300 gamers from all over Wisconsin and the midwest! In 2008, the convention will be held in a NEW location, the Manitowoc County Expo Center, 4921 Expo Drive in Manitowoc, Wisconsin 54220

PRIZE DRAWING AND PACKAGE DEAL!
BIG Prizes, BIG prizes and more BIG prizes! That's the best way to describe this year's crop of game prizes that we're GIVING AWAY in the daily prize drawing. You'll receive 1 prize drawing ticket for each day you're at the con. You can purchase extra drawing tickets at the admission table. 1 for $1, 8 for $5, 20 for $10 and 50 for $20. Every day, we'll have over 20 game prizes on display...each one with it's own bowl for drawing tickets. We're talking BIG TICKET game prizes like Return of the Heroes and Ra board games; Magic: The Gathering Champions of Kamagawa Starter + 3 Booster Packs, Call of Cthulhu Last Rites, Secrets & Bermuda Triangle Role-Playing Supplements and Confrontation starter sets with over 15 miniatures! Lucky winners for these prizes will be drawn each day at 6:30pm!
Also, last year's popular FIRE & ICE Package Deal will return once again for the 2008 con. FOAM SWORD WORKSHOP & TOURNAMENT!
Here's your opportunity to whack the crap out of your friends! On both Saturday and Sunday between the hours of 11:00am and 1:00pm, up to 30 people can try their hand at building their own foam sword. Just $5 gets you the materials to build one long sword or 2 short swords. Instructors will be on hand to show you what to do.
Each day, at 1:00pm, those brave of heart or thick of skull can sign up for the single elimination foam sword tournament. Foam shield upgrades are available for $2 each to increase your chance at victory. Last man (or woman) standing will be crowned the King (or Queen) of all things colorful & squishy!

LAN COMPUTER GAMING!
Thanks to our fellow gamers in M.A.C.E. (Milwaukee Area Computer Enthusiasts), networked computer gaming will be returning to FIRE & ICE this year! LAN Computer Gaming will be available from 11AM - 11PM on Saturday and 9AM - 6PM on Sunday. There is a charge of $4.00 per hour which will include at least one full mission of Ghost Recon and possibly two. Special thanks go to Gamemasters Dale Roethig, John Schwarzmeier, Lloyd Wilson and Larry Chadderdon for bringing this special event to FIRE & ICE.
Ghost Recon: Join up to eight other players in this realtime coop multiplayer modern infantry combat first person shooter. Enhanced with new maps and missions, plus all the latest weapons like the M110 Designated Marksman rifle or the LW15 499 .50cal rifle, plus a few from Area 51. New missions are played every hour. Up to 8 players. Player Level: Novice and up. Brought to you by The Milwaukee Area Computer Enthsiasts Game Squadron.

LOTS OF CCG ACTION!
The marquee event this year is the Magic: The Gathering 5-Color tournament on Saturday with an Unlimited Ancestral Recall as the top prize! Just think, one skilled player is going to walk away with a card valued at over $400!! The intense “Magic” action continues with Magic Booster Draft and Sealed Deck tournaments going ALL WEEKEND LONG and a Type 1 Magic Tournament on Sunday with an Italian Mana Drain valued at $90 going to the first place finisher!
If you have an appetite for Pokemon, you’ll be able to eat your fill on Saturday with the Pokemon Sealed Booster Tournament and on Sunday with the Pokemon Modified Constructed Deck Tournament!
Last, but certainly not least, Yu-Gi-Oh! fans will be able to test their metal on Saturday in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Advanced Tournament. First place wins a whole box of boosters!

3rd ANNUAL COSTUME CONTEST!
FIRE & ICE will once again host a costume contest on Saturday, February 23rd. The awards ceremony will begin at 1:00pm. Contestants are asked to wear their costume up until that time to be eligible for judging. Prizes will be awarded to First, Second and Third place including Free Admission to the 2009 con, some cool gaming goodies and T-shirts from Guardtroll's T's.
So pull your best costume out of the closet and come to the con on Saturday as your favorite Sci-fi, Fantasy or Game character. Have some fun and help set a festive mood for the busiest day at FIRE & ICE. You could be the star of the show and walk away with some uber-cool prizes!

ONLY 1 WEEK LEFT!
There's only 1 week left to submit a game event for FIRE & ICE 2008 and receive hourly credit toward the cost of your admission! Even though our game event schedule this year is brimming with gaming opportunities, we could always use more! This year's con will see more people gaming than ever before and YOU MAKE IT HAPPEN!! Without generous game-players like you running a game and helping others experience the joy of gaming, FIRE & ICE would be nothing special.
If you really want to run a game but you're having problems thinking of just the right game to run, send our Events Manager an email and let him know that you'd be willing to run one of the "WIN THE BOARD!" events. We have several "WIN THE BOARD!" events without game judges and we're offering double credit to judges for those games. If you know exactly what game you'd like to run, click on Submit Event and fill out the quick and simple online submission form.
By the way, if you still need to reserve a hotel room...DO IT NOW!!!. The reduced FIRE & ICE convention rate at the Comfort Inn expires in only 6 days!
So...if you don't see a certain game on the schedule that you've been dying to play....RUN IT YOURSELF! Submit a game event right now and pick up some credit for simply sharing your love of games with your fellow gamers.

LIVING GREYHAWK AT FIRE & ICE!
For the first time in FIRE & ICE history, the 2008 con will host official RPGA game events including the popular, long-running "Living Greyhawk" campaign. Courtesy of Pat Fuge at Gnome Games in Green Bay, Dungeon Masters Dave Maskell, Mike Larkin and Chris Sharka will take role-players on exciting adventures in the epic D&D world of Greyhawk and the NEW Star Wars "Dawn of Defiance" campaign.

OPEN SILENT GAME AUCTION!
They say one man's trash is another man's treasure. At FIRE & ICE 2008, you'll get a chance to test that old adage. ALL convention attendees will get the opportunity to participate in this year's game auction as a buyer AND a seller! Bring in your unwanted or rarely used games or game-related material and put them up for sale to the highest bidder! This is your opportunity to clear out your game closet OR take home some bargain-priced games!
There will be two separate game auctions. One on Saturday from 1:00 pm - 6:30pm and one on Sunday from 1:00 pm - 6:30 pm. There is a small fee for sellers to participate in the game auction. For more details, select Game Auction on the menu to the left, or click HERE!

WARHAMMER 40K ROGUE TRADER TOURNAMENT!
Dust off your Carnifex and fire up your Vindicator! The 8th annual Fire & Ice Warhammer 40,000 Rogue Trader Tournament is ready to rock! This year will be the best tournament yet with more space, more players and more prizes! Keep on reading to find out all the important details for this year's tournament!
REGISTRATION: $5.00 entry fee. There are 3 ways to register for this tournament...
On Site: Registration begins at 9:30am on Sunday, February 24th. A total of 32 players will be admitted into the tournament.
Game Store: Pre-registrations for the tournament will also be taken at My Parent's Basement game store in Manitowoc and Victory Games game store in Sheboygan. Each store will accept a maximum of 10 pre-registrations.
By Phone: If you live outside of Sheboygan or Manitowoc counties and do not have an opportunity to register at a game store, you may register by phone by calling 920-683-3939. A maximum of 10 pre-registrations will be accepted by phone.
RULES: 1850 point armies. All armies from current catalog printed codexes will be allowed. This will include the new Chaos Codex (2007) and the new Ork Codex (Being released in Jan. (2008). The revised Dark Eldar Codex is also acceptable. On-line codexes such as the I.G. Armored Company will not be allowed. Games Workshop or scratch-built models only. You will need your own rules, copy of your codex, dice, ruler, templates, and a FULLY PAINTED AND BASED ARMY. Three (3) clear, printed, legible copies of your army list must be presented to judges during on-site registration. Games will be played in three two-hour rounds with 30 minute breaks in-between and an hour lunch break at 1:00 PM.
PRIZES: HOO! HOO! There will be at LEAST $150 of GW merchandise given out as prizes. Plus many unusual awards including: Best General, Best Painted, Best Army List, & others. There will also be Random Door Prizes for participants including a TABLES-WORTH of scratch-built terrain.

EXCLUSIVE FIRE & ICE HOTEL RATES!
If you're traveling from far away to attend FIRE & ICE, it's not too early to book your hotel room. Even though we've moved the con to a new location, we were able to find some great managers at two local hotels that are offering convention attendees super-low rates during FIRE & ICE.
THE COMFORT INN and THE BIRCH CREEK INN are both located very close to the Manitowoc County Expo Center and both have extended a special reduced rate for convention attendees. Check out "Hotels" on the menu to the left to see the special rates and contact info for each hotel. When calling to book your room, be sure to mention you're attending the FIRE & ICE Game Convention to get the discounted rate.
Rooms are available on a first come, first serve basis and the special FIRE & ICE discounted rates will only last until the end of January. So book your room as soon as possible!

EARLY EVENT SUBMISSION = DOUBLE CREDITS!
We're trying something new for FIRE & ICE 2008 to get the event schedule bristling with exciting gaming opportunities so ya'all have something to salivate about over the holidays. If you plan on running a game at the con, and you submit your event before November 10th, 2007 you will recieve DOUBLE THE CREDIT for each hour you run your game. That's right...DOUBLE THE CREDIT!! Instead of earning the normal $1 per hour, you'll earn $2 for each hour you run an event! Just think, you could earn yourself free admission for a day after running games just 5 hours instead of 10! Ubercool...isn't it? We're crazy that way.
